A former resident still has access to my letterbox in the Bringme Box. How do I get them removed or add a housemate?

🔎 Introduction

You moved into an apartment and the previous resident is still linked to your letterbox in the Bringme Box. Or you want your letterbox to be used only by the people who live with you now: someone who moved out removed, or a housemate added. This article explains who can change that and what to send them.

📃 Answer

Who has access to a letterbox is managed by the Bringme administrator of your building, usually the building manager or property manager. Only the administrator can remove or add users on a letterbox. Bringme does not remove another person's account at your request, so your request goes to your administrator.

Remove a former resident

  1. Contact the Bringme administrator of your building.
  2. Give your apartment number or letterbox number.
  3. Give the name of the person who moved out and should no longer have access.
  4. Your administrator removes that person from your letterbox. From then on, that person can no longer open it.

You are the new resident

You do not have to wait until the previous resident is removed. Register yourself at the Bringme Box with its QR code, as explained in this article. Your administrator then links your account to your letterbox. Ask your administrator at the same time to remove the previous resident.

Add a housemate

Every housemate who wants to receive deliveries and mail under their own name needs their own Bringme account. Ask your administrator to add your housemate to your letterbox. Some buildings use their own sign-up form for this; your administrator will tell you how it works in your building.

Does someone only collect a delivery for you now and then? Then you can also share your own access code. This article explains both options.

💡 Tip: do you not know who the Bringme administrator of your building is? Ask your building management or property manager.
