🔎Introduction
A Residential Bringme Box contains both closed compartments used for parcel delivery and compartments with a slot used for mail delivery. These mail compartments are known as 'hybrid' compartments. Let’s find out what that means.
📃Answer
A letterbox compartment differs from a parcel compartment in two ways:
-
Specific accounts are linked to the compartment itself, so only those users can access it. These accounts can open the compartment at any time, even if no mail has been delivered.
-
Mail can be inserted through the slot without the compartment opening.
By default, these compartments serve a double purpose to optimise the use of space in the Bringme Box, which is why they are referred to as 'hybrid compartments'. If a letterbox is empty and a courier has a delivery for the account linked to it, the compartment will open so the parcel can be placed inside. If the letterbox already contains mail, it will not open for the courier—this is to protect your private mail.
Would you prefer to disable this option? You can do so easily in the Bringme App by going to Profile > Settings > Letterbox Settings.
