🔎 Introduction
Each mailbox in the Bringme Box can have a small digital nameplate that shows the mailbox number and, if it is filled in, your name. This article explains what to do when that nameplate is blank, faded, dark or tinted red, shows a QR code instead of your number or name, or still shows an old name.
📃 Answer
In almost every case, the batteries of the nameplate are empty. The nameplate runs on two CR2032 button cell batteries. You can replace them yourself, or ask your administrator to do it. This also applies when several nameplates in the building show this at the same time: each of them needs two new batteries.
What you need
- A small flathead screwdriver or a similar tool
- Two new CR2032 batteries, straight from the pack
💡 Tip: batteries taken from another nameplate do not count, even if that nameplate still works. Only two new batteries rule out the batteries as the cause.
Replace the batteries
- Open your mailbox in the Bringme Box the way you normally do. Your administrator can open every compartment of the Bringme Box.
- On the inside of the door, slide the back plate of the nameplate towards the inside of the mailbox and take it off.
- Carefully take the nameplate out of the door at the front.
- Remove the two old batteries: put the screwdriver in the notch above the battery and gently push the battery towards you.
- Place the two new batteries in the lower part of the nameplate. Put each battery first at the bottom of the battery holder, under the two pins, and press it down until it sits firmly.
- Slide the nameplate back into the door from the front.
- Slide the back plate back into place until it clicks.
- Close your mailbox.
What happens next
At first the nameplate may still show a QR code or the old name. It can take up to 24 hours before it shows the right number and name again.
Does the nameplate show only the mailbox number and no name? Then no name is filled in for your mailbox. Your administrator can add one if you want your name to be shown.
Still blank, faded or a QR code after a day?
If the nameplate is still blank, faded or shows a QR code 24 hours after you put in two new batteries, the nameplate itself is defective and Bringme replaces it. Let us know through the request form:
- Go to Submit a request.
- In Your email address, fill in your email address.
- In Description, give the name of the building and your mailbox number, say that you put in two new CR2032 batteries, and add a photo of the nameplate.
